A 72-year-old man and two others have been arraigned in connection with an alleged land fraud case.

A 72-year-old man named Ayoade Johnson, along with two other individuals, Fesojaye Ogundana, 67, and Kehinde Adebiyi, 32, were arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday for alleged land fraud. The defendants, whose addresses were not disclosed, are facing four counts of conspiracy, obtaining money under pretenses, and theft.

They pleaded not guilty to all charges. The prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Tellang, informed the court that the offenses occurred in January 2025 on Ido Road in Ibadan. He alleged that the defendants obtained the sum of N800,000 from Ademola Adewumi and Toyin Oyewumi under the pretense of assisting them in purchasing a plot of land.

However, it is claimed that they not only acquired the land but also later sold it to another person. These actions reportedly contravene Sections 516, 419, and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
