George faced criticism for his prior legal issues and his 2009 Lagos High Court conviction on 23 counts of contract splitting and abuse of office.
Comrade Timi Frank, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy national publicity secretary, has harshly criticized Chief Olabode George, a former PDP deputy national chairman (South), for his recent comments disparaging former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Thursday, August 29, saw the publication of a statement in Abuja in which Frank accused George of going too far in trying to forecast Nigeria’s political future.
Frank said, “George should continue to wallow in self-delusion and ego trip,” claiming that George is in no position to decide who will be the country’s leader in 2027.
Frank went on to criticize George for his prior legal issues, including his 2009 conviction on 23 charges of abuse of office and contract splitting by the Lagos High Court.
Although the Supreme Court cleared George in 2013, Frank argued that his past transgressions disqualified him from making authoritative remarks on subjects of national importance.
Frank further emphasized the inconsistency in George’s forecasts by pointing to his earlier criticisms of President Bola Tinubu.
According to Frank, “This is a man who vowed Tinubu would lose the 2023 presidential election and even threatened to renounce his Nigerian citizenship and go into exile if Tinubu won.”
Frank emphasized that George is not the one who would decide whether or not Nigeria will be led by George in 2027 by God and the people of Nigeria.
“If God says that Atiku will be President in 2027, then a thousand Olabode Georges living on the magnanimity of the Supreme Court cannot annul it,” he declared, advising George to stop criticizing Atiku and concentrate on his political errors.
