Banks Lend Billions of Naira to Churches

The Celestial Church of Christ’s prophet Israel Ogundipe has disclosed how certain banks are supporting and lending enormous amounts to churches so they can grow their ministry internationally.

On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, during an Instagram Live session, the well-known prophet revealed this while conversing with well-known Nigerian on-air personality Ifedayo Olarinde, better known by his stage name Daddy Freeze.
Ogundipe, the founder of the Genesis Global Ministry in Lagos, claimed to have received a similar loan offer from a bank, which he used to grow his ministry and reach a wider audience worldwide.
To persuade him, he further stated that the nameless bank provided him with information about the churches that have enrolled in the loan program.

The clergyman went on to say that some churches on the list he had provided whose names he declined to reveal received loans totalling between 3 and 4 billion naira.
Two months ago, I received a call from a bank expressing their desire to lend me #1 billion. I asked them for what purpose they were offering me the loan. They retorted that since they knew my church was large, they knew churches were receiving the loan and that I would be able to repay it. When I asked them how they wanted me to repay them, they replied, “We’ll be paying back monthly when we are doing revivals and crusades.”They also listed a few churches that received loans from them totalling between ₦3 and ₦4 billion.

And I enquired as to how they anticipated me repaying them for such an amount and they said that those who obtained these loans would never stop holding conferences, crusades, and revivals because they would then be able to obtain funds for repayment,” the pastor remarked.
