APC suspends former Osun governor, Aregbesola. More details to follow.

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended former Interior Minister and ex-Governor Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, citing alleged anti-party activities. Aregbesola is accused of creating divisions within the APC by forming a splinter group, which the party claims has undermined its unity in the state.

In a formal resolution sent to APC National Chairman Dr Umar Ganduje, the Osun chapter stated, “Aregbesola’s actions have exacerbated internal discord,” posing a threat to cohesion at a pivotal time for the party. The statement emphasized that his conduct damaged the party’s stability, especially amid heightened political stakes locally.

This suspension highlights a major division within the APC’s ranks, with Aregbesola’s faction yet to address the allegations. The decision by the Osun APC underscores the party’s effort to maintain unity amidst shifting political dynamics in the state.
