Justice Adumein Praises CIFCFIN’s Efforts Against Corruption in Nigeria

Justice Adumein emphasized the importance of adopting digital solutions to improve governance and efficiency, highlighting that such initiatives can significantly contribute to the overall integrity of public financial management. He expressed optimism that CICFIN’s efforts will lead to a more robust framework for combating corruption in Nigeria.

Justice Moore Abraham Aseimo Adumein of the Supreme Court has praised the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) for utilizing advanced technology and forensic tools to combat corruption and financial crimes in Nigeria. He described these efforts as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing fight against corruption, which is severely harming the nation.

Justice Adumein urged all Nigerians to join the battle against corruption, emphasizing that it requires a collective effort. He encouraged individuals to reflect on their actions and uphold values of integrity, fairness, and justice in their professional and personal lives. He believes that by doing so, Nigerians can contribute to a society free from oppression, ultimately fulfilling the ideals expressed in the national anthem.

Renowned for his anti-corruption stance long before his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Adumein was selected as one of the few Nigerian judges to pursue a Post Graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies at Hong Kong University in partnership with the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) Academy.

Dr. Iliyasu Gashinbaki, President and Chairman-in-Council of CIFCFIN, acknowledged Justice Adumein as a vital ally in the fight against corruption, fraud, and financial crimes in Nigeria.

During his address on “Forensics: The Game Changer to Nigeria’s FINTECHs Trillion Naira Loss,” Gashinbaki highlighted the essential role of forensic investigations in protecting Nigeria’s financial system from fraud and economic crimes. He noted that while Financial Technology (Fintech) companies are key drivers of economic growth in Nigeria and Africa, their rapid expansion has led to increased risks of fraud, cybercrime, and identity theft.

Gashinbaki encouraged the recent graduates of CIFCFIN to apply their newly acquired knowledge to combat Fintech-related fraud and other emerging financial crimes within Nigeria’s economy. The institute’s ninth training session awarded fellowships to 15 distinguished individuals from various fields and certified 70 new members
