The founder of the Liberal Party of Ghana and presidential candidate Kofi Akpaloo has set an unusual requirement for any prospective suitors of his daughter.
Akpaloo stunned everyone when he disclosed in a recent interview with Accra-based Kingdom FM that he would only consent to marry his daughter once the prospective husband had successfully impregnated her.

Before I offer my daughter to you for marriage, you must get her pregnant. GhanaWeb cited Akpaloo as stating, “I will determine your seriousness as a man only when you impregnate her. I cannot make her go through the struggles associated with childbirth.”
He continued, “The truth is, I will even want her to become pregnant and give birth before she is offered to the man for marriage.
Akpaloo claims the law alone pertains to him.
Akpaloo clarified that the criteria reflect his particular viewpoint and may not apply to others.
The lawmaker allegedly stated that a man needs to tie the knot by the time he turns 27.
“By the time you’re 27, you ought to have settled with the woman you intend to wed and
begin having kids. You can better arrange your life if you can get married at 27.
“You shouldn’t have to retire and continue to care for your last child if you don’t get married young.
“Most of the time, people think about money, but when you have a woman in your life, your mind sharpens and you have to work to make sure you can support the family,” he was reported to have said.
