- Human rights lawyer Femi Falana, alongside his son Folarin, popularly known as Falz, has issued a 12-hour ultimatum to popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, demanding a public apology and retraction of defamatory
statements made in audio recordings circulating online.
The ultimatum, outlined in a letter dated October 14, 2024, was signed by Olorunfemi Akinyemi, Esq., and Taiwo E. Olawanle, Esq., of Falana and Falana’s Chambers. The Falanas accuse Bobrisky of making false claims implicating them in an alleged bribery scheme and efforts to secure a pardon.
According to the letter, Bobrisky allegedly made slanderous remarks concerning their involvement in his imprisonment and interactions with the Nigerian Correctional Service. The letter outlines an incident from May 4, 2024, when Bobrisky allegedly contacted Falz, requesting N3,000,000 to arrange preferential treatment at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. Despite Falz’s refusal, Bobrisky falsely claimed in a video that Falz’s father, Femi Falana, had agreed to assist in securing a pardon for him, with a bribe of N10,000,000.
Additionally, Bobrisky is accused of falsely stating that he paid N5,000,000 to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria as part of a scheme to obtain a pardon from the Federal Government for charges filed by the EFCC. He further claimed that although N10,000,000 was initially requested, his frozen accounts prevented him from paying the full amount.
