According to Olotu, the UK is dedicated to sharing its knowledge of public service growth while acknowledging the importance of learning from Nigeria’s experiences.
Mrs Didi Walson-Jack, Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF), and her UK counterpart, Rt. Hon. Simon Case, have committed to work together, improve ties, and progress Nigeria’s civil service reforms.
Walson-Jack decided at his Cabinet Office in London after meeting with the UK Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service, Rt—Hon—case.
Mrs Eno Olotu, Director of Communications, HOCSF Office, revealed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja.
Olotu stated that the main discussions at the meeting centred on capacity building, knowledge management, and improving Nigeria’s Civil Service Week, drawing inspiration from the blueprint for the UK’s yearly “Civil Service Live” conference.
“The meeting centred on sharing information and best practices to help Nigeria’s continuing reform efforts under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025.
“Both parties agreed to explore exchange programmes and study tours to facilitate mutual learning, emphasising knowledge sharing,” she remarked.
She stated that the coordinated effort would deepen the alliance between the two civil services, enhance their capacities, and establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
“The meeting emphasizes Nigeria and the UK’s commitment to establishing efficient and responsive civil services through continuing engagement and support in the years ahead,” she stated.
