After eliminating every terrorist, the soldiers found and took possession of five Dane weapons, a submachine gun made locally, and live ammunition.
Mustapha Abdullahi, a well-known terrorist leader, and five of his cronies were killed by Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Special Forces in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The special forces were dispatched from the 413 Force Protection Group, according to a statement released on Sunday by AVM Edward Gabkwet, Director, of NAF Public Relations and Information.
The deployment, according to Gabkwet, was prompted by an intelligence tip that was received on August 31 and stated that the terrorist leader and his gang had been spotted close to Sabon Gida forest along Sabon Birni Road.
According to him, their goal was probably to abduct, hurt, or murder innocent bystanders.
As per his statement, the following communication when the terrorists on motorbikes spotted the Special Forces, they fired back, but the soldiers had more firepower than the militants.
After eliminating every terrorist, the soldiers found and took five Dane weapons, a submachine gun made in the area, live ammunition, and a variety of charms, lighters, sim cards, and cell phone cases.
The military is still working to purge criminals and their activities from Igabi, Birnin Gwari, and the surrounding areas.
He said, “Troops have also received praise and been asked to step up ongoing efforts to protect lives and property.”
